My mum had a mexico theme in her old garden/patio area (Giant rosary beads, candles, masks and a mexcian rug over one of the chairs! It was great!

Lulu - I think the Mexican style really lends itself to outdoors - the colours are great for a BBQ area. Your Mum’s garden sounds great!
PQ - I’m not sure how common this sort of decoration is for backyards. Certainly our outdoor setup is very common - I’ll have to take more photos of the house to show the Mexican architecture. Very distinctive!
