My Husband’s Kind of Humour
Rocky’s not much of a blog reader. He looks at those written by journos, usually about sport, but I don’t count them as real blogs. Often they are just badly researched op-ed pieces. Actually some would say that’s a description of all blog posts.
Anyway, moving right along….
When I come across a blog post or youtube video or email joke I think he’ll like I’ll show it to him. And I can usually tell which ones will make him laugh out loud or even cry with laughter.
This blog post I read today was one of those cry with laughter moments for him. It’s toilet humour, because guys just never grow out of that, do they, but I must admit, I found it hilarious too. Planning Queen linked to one of the older posts on this blog, and through that I found my way to this very funny Dad’s latest offering -
Why I Crop-Dusted a Three-Year-Old
Thanks PQ, and Dad Gone Mad for giving my husband a good old laugh this morning.

Mariah Carey - New and Improved
In my opinion it doesn’t take much to improve Mariah Carey, because strangled cat wailing is not really my cup of tea.
You may have seen this girl from Bulgarian Music Idol having a go at improving on the “classic hit” Without You - the results are pretty funny. She can’t sing in tune, which doesn’t seem to matter with Idol competitions, but her interpretation of the English words when she doesn’t speak the language are hilarious.
My favourite line:
“Ken Leeeeee, tulibu dibu douchoo”
You won’t be able to get it out of your head. ![]()

Where does she get this stuff from?
Driving to the doctor the other day to have my “pedicure” and Guerita in the back seat pipes up:
“Mum, what’s a proctologist?”
**splutter, splutter**
The sniggering from the driver’s seat confirmed it.
“Daddy said it’s a bottom doctor, Mum. Is that true?”
“Yes, Guerita, that’s true”
It could have been worse, I guess. He could have said a$$man

Toilet Humour
There was a bit of discussion about toilet humour over at Three Ring Circus the other day and Meg posted a link to a video of an aerobics instructor on live TV letting more go than she bargained for.
I do love a bit of toilet humour (I don“t think you ever grow out of it, Tiff) so I just had to share this video Rocky got in an email last week
Lenny Henry is a very funny man.

Family Portrait
I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to playing around with photos and tools on the net. They can keep me amused for hours. If I ever had hours of uninterrupted time on the net.
I couldn’t resist this one at www.simpsonizeme.com. I’m not sure that the uploaded photos actually had any bearing on the end result, but it was kinda fun.
I’ve also been using some of the tools at Big Huge Labs, making mosaics, putting frames around my photos and using the palette generator to match colours. I don’t really make New Year’s Resolutions (since I always break them) but one of the things I want to do in 2008 is learn how to take better photos and do more with them. I only have a point and press digital camera; maybe one day I’ll get a DSLR but I’m a long way off justifying that expense to myself. At the moment I am happy exploring the settings beyond Auto and reading a few blogs on Digital Photography. That and finally learning how to use Photoshop and I’ll be happy.
I have been taking the camera out and about with me a lot more and trying to record a few more of the things we see every day. Partly to keep practicing but also because I am starting to “blog think” (always thinking about topics to blog about) and because I can see our time in Mexico drawing to a close - still months away, but the end is in sight - so I want to record things that I become used to seeing, but were interesting to us when we first arrived.
When we were at the the other day, I snapped a quick shot of an ice-cream cart. You see them all over town and I have grown used to them, but this is a sight I would never see at home.
